The Diagnosis & Self-Recovery Engineering Research Center of Beijing University of Chemical Technology (DSE Center for short) was initiated by Professor Gao Jinji, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and an expert in equipment diagnosis engineering, and was established on July 11, 2001 with the support of the "211 Program" of the Ministry of Education.
In 2004, we established a joint laboratory for embedded device development and training with RTD of the United States;
In 2006, we established the Engineering Research Center of Chemical Safety of the Ministry of Education, the Basic Research Laboratory of Fault Prevention and Monitoring of Dangerous Chemicals Production Process of the State Administration of Work Safety, and the China Petroleum Remote Monitoring and Diagnosis (Beijing) Center;
In 2009, we established a joint laboratory for turbine machinery fault diagnosis and self-healing with Xinjinhua Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd.;
In 2010, we established the Beijing Key Laboratory of Health Monitoring and Self-Healing of High-end Mechanical Equipment;
In 2014, we established a joint laboratory for aviation engine vibration monitoring with the Air Force Equipment Research Institute;
In 2016, we established the Aviation Engine Health Monitoring Research Institute, and established the Compressor Health Intelligent Monitoring Center of the National Key Laboratory of Compressor Technology with the Hefei General Machinery Research Institute;
In 2016, we were awarded the National Defense Key Discipline of Power and Energy by the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense;
In 2017, we established a joint laboratory for aviation engine vibration health monitoring with the Shenyang Engine Research Institute of China Aero Engine Corporation;
In 2018, we established the Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Engine Health Monitoring and Networking;
In 2022, we established the State Key Laboratory of High-end Compressor and System Technology.
The team has 37 in-service teachers and 9 part-time academicians and professors, including 6 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (including 5 part-time academicians), 1 young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions at the national level, 1 "New Century Talent" of the Ministry of Education, 1 "Young Talent Program" of Beijing Higher Education Institutions, and 1 outstanding talent of Beijing. Among the in-service teachers, there are 33 researchers with senior titles, 21 professors (researchers), 12 associate professors (associate researchers), and 4 lecturers. There are currently 29 doctoral students and more than 180 master students.
