School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Successfully Holds 2025 Outstanding University Student Summer Camp

On July 15, 2025, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering held its 2025 Outstanding University Student Summer Camp at the East Campus. Over 60 outstanding students from more than 50 universities across the country gathered to explore the cutting-edge disciplines and research appeal of the School. Wang Weimin, Dean of the School; Ren Feng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; Pan Xin, Vice Dean; and the heads of various disciplines attended the opening ceremony, which was presided over by Vice Dean Zhang Jing.

Dean Wang Weimin systematically introduced the School's development history, research platforms, disciplinary strengths, international exchanges, and campus culture. Professor Lu Tao, Associate Professor Li Haoyi, Professor Xue Ping, Professor Li Dong, and Associate Professor Wei Zheng, representing the discipline points of Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics, Mechanical Engineering, Safety Science and Engineering, Mechanics, and Mechanical Engineering respectively, provided detailed introductions. These presentations fully demonstrated the key value of each discipline in supporting intelligent manufacturing, high-end equipment R&D, and engineering applications, highlighting the School's important position in related research fields.

In the afternoon, the camp participants divided into groups and proceeded to various research teams for visits to the scientific research laboratories, engaging in in-depth communication with faculty and students from these teams. During the visits and exchanges, each team showcased their latest technological research achievements, elaborated on their research directions and industry prospects, conducted live demonstrations of related instruments and equipment as well as key technologies, and displayed the advanced level of the School in relevant fields, which sparked strong interest among the students.

This summer camp featured substantial content and was well-organized. The participants not only gained zero-distance access to the research platforms across various fields within the School but also further clarified their future research directions and career plans through interactions with numerous professors and graduate students. The campers unanimously expressed that the event not only broadened their academic horizons but also ignited their enthusiasm for engaging in scientific research and applying for postgraduate studies at Beijing University of Chemical Technology.

In the future, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Beijing University of Chemical Technology will continue to uphold the philosophy of "promoting disciplines through scientific research and nurturing talent through innovation," striving to cultivate more high-level talents who can serve national strategies and lead industry development.
