On October 21st, the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering successfully held the seventh counselor Quality and Ability Enhancement Salon in the first meeting room of the library at Changping Campus. This salon has specially invited Professor Wang Xiaoyan, one of the "Five Elders" from Beijing University of Chemical Technology, to deliver a special report titled "Focusing on Problems and Initiating Efficient Interviews". Ren Feng presided over the report meeting, and all the counselors attended the training.

In the report, Professor Wang Xiaoyan, based on the common problems encountered in the actual work of counselors, elaborated in a simple and understandable way on the working framework of heart-to-heart talks. She closely focuses on student mental health education, combining theoretical knowledge with vivid cases to help counselors master the methods and skills for identifying psychological problems, effective intervention, and handling psychological crisis events. Professor Wang emphasized that counselors should continuously deepen their theoretical understanding of psychological issues, enhance their in-depth interview skills, adhere to the principle of "one student, one strategy", and teach students in accordance with their aptitudes, thereby comprehensively improving their competence and confidence in psychological education work.

During the interactive session, Professor Wang Xiaoyan had an in-depth discussion with the attending counselors on the confusions they encountered in their daily work, and the atmosphere on the spot was very lively.
This salon is an important part of the "Counselor Quality and Competence Enhancement Program" of the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, aiming to provide strong support for counselors to carry out student mental health education more effectively and help students grow up healthily and succeed. In the future, the college will continue to base itself on the actual needs of counselors, actively explore high-quality resources, build a diversified training system, and continuously promote the professionalization and expertization of the counselor team, contributing to the in-depth implementation of the new era's project of fostering virtue and nurturing talent.
