Teachers and students from our school competed in the first 'World Humanoid Robot Games'

The inaugural "World Humanoid Robot Games" was held from August 14 to 17 at the National Speed Skating Oval ("Ice Ribbon"). A total of 280 teams and over 510 humanoid robots from 16 countries across five continents competed in 26 events comprising 538 contests. A representative team from the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Beijing University of Chemical Technology, consisting of five first-year students from the 2024 cohort (Zhao Ziyuan, Zhang Yan, Zhu Zichen, Chen Ziwei, Ren Yiming), called the Storm MiniBots, led by Professors Huang Yao and Chen Guohua from the Department of Robotics Engineering, competed against 22 top global college and enterprise teams. As the youngest team in the scenario-based competition, the Beijing University of Chemical Technology team successfully completed the "Pharmaceutical Sorting" event, which simulates the high-pressure environment of a real pharmacy, demonstrating real-time decision-making and precise control abilities.

Event Introduction: The 2025 World Humanoid Robot Games is co-hosted by China Media Group, the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, the World Robot Cooperative Organization, and the Asia-Pacific Robot World Cup International Council. It is organized in the Beijing area, with the Beijing Headquarters of China Media Group participating as a co-organizer. This competition is the world's first comprehensive sporting event specifically for humanoid robots.
