On July 15, 2025, the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering held the 2025 Outstanding Undergraduate Summer Camp at the East Campus. More than 60 outstanding students from over 50 universities across the country gathered together to explore the cutting-edge disciplines and research appeal of the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. Wang Weimin, Ren Feng, Pan Xin, and the heads of various disciplines attended the opening ceremony, which was hosted by Zhang Jing.

Wang Weimin systematically introduced the development history, research platforms, disciplinary strengths, international exchanges, and campus culture of the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and encouraged the trainees to cherish this opportunity for learning and exchange, to deeply explore their research interests, and to accumulate strength for their future academic careers. Lu Tao, Li Haoyi, Xue Ping, He Lidong, and Wei Zheng respectively represented five disciplines: Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics, Mechanical Engineering, Safety Science and Engineering, Mechanics, and Mechanical Engineering, providing detailed introductions on their disciplinary strengths, professional characteristics, cutting-edge research, faculty teams, and graduate training. Their presentations fully demonstrated the key value of each discipline in supporting intelligent manufacturing, high-end equipment development, and engineering applications, reflecting the College’s significant position in the relevant research fields.

In the afternoon, the campers were divided into groups to visit the research laboratories of Academician Gao Jinji's team, the Yinglan Laboratory team, the Plastic Machinery and Plastic Engineering Research Institute team, the Chemical Machinery Research Institute team, teams related to Safety Science and Engineering, and teams related to Mechanics. They engaged in in-depth exchanges with the faculty and students of each team. During the visits and exchanges, each team showcased their latest technological research achievements, explained their research directions and industry prospects in detail, demonstrated relevant instruments and key technologies on site, and displayed the advanced levels of the college in the respective fields, which sparked strong interest among the students.

This summer camp was content-rich and well-organized. The campers not only had close-up access to the various research platforms of the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, but also further clarified their future research directions and career plans through interactions with several professors and graduate students. The campers expressed that this summer camp not only broadened their academic horizons but also inspired their enthusiasm for engaging in research and applying for graduate studies at Beihua University.

In the future, the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Beijing University of Chemical Technology will continue to uphold the concept of 'promoting disciplines through research and nurturing talent through innovation,' striving to cultivate more high-level talents who serve national strategies and lead industry development.
