 On the evening of December 29, 2023, the "Eight Institutes Joint" Graduate New Year's Eve Party was held at the Science Hall on the East Campus. Themed Set Sail and Forge Ahead, Embracing New Aspirations, the event was jointly organized by the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, College of Information Science and Technology, College of Life Science and Technology, College of Materials Science and Engineering, College of Chemistry, College of Economics and Management, College of Marxism, and the College of Mathematics and Physics at Beijing University of Chemical Technology.


The event featured a diverse array of performances, including singing, dancing, comedy, fashion shows, and magic. It attracted approximately 500 on-site attendees, with nearly 4,000 people tuning in to the live broadcast online. The evening kicked off with an energetic opening dance and a lively medley of songs, setting the tone for the New Year's Eve celebration. The youthful smiles and passionate singing drew the audience into this vibrant and captivating event.


"Han Yi Shu Ying" tells the story of a plum blossom through the form of a young girl, depicting its journey from blooming alone in the cold, relishing its own beauty, to retreating silently as spring returns. The tranquil atmosphere and graceful dance movements immerse the audience in the world of the plum blossom. "Jing Yun" blends traditional Chinese culture with modern stage expressions. It is not only an art of physical movement but also a profound interpretation and recreation of Chinese classical culture and history. Through this performance, the audience is introduced to the deep cultural heritage of China.


"Sudden Self + Blooming Flowers and Full Moon,""Rings of Time,""Jasmine,""I Have to Let Go,""The Love You Left Behind," and "The Same Moonlight"—the singers passionately performed these classic songs, with their beautiful voices and sincere emotions resonating deeply with the audience, sparking a strong sense of connection and empathy among those present.


The energetic pop dances "TALK THAT TALK," "KITSCH," "YOU AND ME + DRAMA," and "GOD OF MUSIC," along with the cyberpunk-inspired runway show "POKER FACE" showcased the vibrant youth and unique style of Beijing University of Chemical Technology students. Through their swaying steps and dynamic beats, they brought the spirit of youth and individuality to life on stage.

The magic performance "Miracle" captivated the audience, with the performer’s humorous and natural dialogue paired with astonishingly skillful tricks. The combination of wit and wonder sparked waves of laughter and applause from the crowd.


The comedic sketch "Taking Tiger Mountain by Strategy" presented a humorous and witty performance, telling a story of courage, wisdom, and unity, while blending entertainment with valuable lessons.


The grand finale, the chorus of "Returning to Seventeen," with its upbeat melody and clear vocals, painted a vivid picture of youthful days, allowing the audience to feel the innocence and joy of youth, along with the excitement and dreams of their younger years.


With the close coordination and collaborative efforts of the graduate student associations from eight institutes, the "Eight Institutes Joint" Graduate New Year's Eve Party was successfully held, offering the audience a visual and auditory feast. As the year comes to a close and the new year begins, the vibrant celebration of youth has come to a perfect end, and a fresh chapter of the new year is about to unfold. May everyone, in the coming year, set sail and forge ahead with new aspirations, embracing the spirit of determination and resilience, and writing a brilliant chapter of youth with hard work and dedication.
