On the evening of March 15, 2024, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering held a Class 2023 automation sub-specialty lecture in the Truth-seeking Lecture Hall and the Learning Lecture Hall. Professor Ma Xiuqing, Professor Duan Chenghong, Professor Chen Dongliang, Professor Chen Guohua four professional leaders respectively made the introduction of mechanical design and manufacturing and automation, process equipment and control engineering, safety engineering and robot engineering. All undergraduate students of automation class 2023 of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and counselor teachers attended the meeting. Combining the professional background and teaching characteristics, Professor Ma Xiuqing introduced the training objectives, teaching plans and development prospects of the major of mechanical design, manufacturing and automation in detail, emphasizing that this major is "an interdisciplinary major characterized by intelligent manufacturing of material processing machinery" and cultivates interdisciplinary talents with high quality and high level. Professor Duan Chenghong introduced the history of the major of process equipment and control engineering to the students, the advantages of the master's degree and the doctoral’s degree in the platform discipline, the high-level and diversified tutor team, and encouraged the students to be good at thinking, brave in practice, pay attention to national exchanges, and give full play to the interdisciplinary characteristics of "one body and two wings", which is mainly equipment and supplemented by technology and control. Professor Chen Dongliang introduced the major of safety engineering. He pointed out that safety in production is related to the safety of people's lives and national property, is the basic condition for protecting and developing social productive forces, promoting the sustainable and healthy development of society and economy, and is an important symbol of social civilization and progress. Combined with the cases of outstanding alumni, it shows the broad prospect and social demand of safety engineering. Professor Chen Guohua introduced the specialty characteristics of robot engineering from the perspective of national strategic development needs and international development trends, and made an in-depth interpretation of the curriculum system and training objectives.
