"Patriotism and Hardworking are the Foundation for Success" - College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Successfully Held the "Academician Lectures"

  In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping at the working conference on "stay true to the original intention and keep the mission in mind", and in accordance with the unified arrangement of the theme education of the school and the college Party committee, on November 1, 2019, 3:00 pm, College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering successfully held the “Academician Lectures” at the Changping Campus Gymnasium. The event was hosted by Feng Wang, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and the North District counselor, and attended by over 900 students.

 

  

  Jinji Gao, the academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, expert in equipment diagnostic engineering, and Professor of the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, shared his understanding of patrioti**, truth-seeking and innovation under the theme of “Patrioti** and hardworking are the foundation for success” from seven aspects of “Great ambition makes great people, diligence makes people intelligent, pragmatic effort leads one to the truth, learning and practicing generate innovations, team work facilitates success, science and technology outweigh physical beauty, and good health depends on one’s daily exercise”. Using his life stories and scientific research experience, he encouraged the students to vigorously carry forward the spirit of "Unity and Dedication, Hard Work, Pragmati**, Extensive Learning and Innovation", integrate and practice the knowledge they have learned, and focus on cultivating the ability to solve practical engineering problems. He also encouraged students to stick to their ideals and beliefs, strive for progress and make contributions to the prosperity and rejuvenation of the motherland. Mr. Gao closed the lecture with his original eight-line poem to the motherland, showing his love for the country.

 

 

      

  The students were deeply touched by the insightful lecture. They expressed their will to cherish the time, and the determination to shoulder the responsibilities of the times and to be a socialist builder and successor with an all-round development of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic and labor education!
