In order to continuously promote the management and service level of Changping Campus, and driven by the teachers’ and students’ demands for shared bicycles to fill the gap called by the absence of “ofo” on campus, the North District Office, together with the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, organized student volunteers to repair and reuse the old bikes that have been unclaimed for a long time for sharing among teachers and students for free.
This time, the free-sharing bicycle, named “Hongde Bicycle”, has a uniform appearance in jade green. On the one hand, the name highlights the elements of school motto, “Extensive learning and Cultivate global talents”; On the other hand, it represents the wish that the teachers and students should take good care of the bicycle while using, and show the character of Beihua people with both professional competence and integrity. By October 20, under the joint efforts of the College and the Wind Chase Vehicle Association, the students had repaired 60 bicycles and installed special signs by themselves.
On October 21st, the Changping Campus of Beijing University of Chemical Technology held the launching ceremony of “Hongde Bicycle”. Jianru Su, Director of the North District Office, Bing Zhang, Party Secretary of the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Weimin Yang, Dean of the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Zhongbo Sun, Deputy Director of the North District Office, and Feng Wang, Deputy Party Secretary of the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, attended the ceremony. The first batch of 60 Hongde bicycles was officially put into use, and the bicycle parking sites were arranged in designated areas such as the Changping Campus Bishop Building, Student Apartment, Library, Zizhu Restaurant, and the North District Office. The North District Office will cooperate with the College, coordinate the logistics support department and the security department to provide supports, and continue to launch more Hongde bicycles. Meanwhile, it will, together with the students, conduct maintenance of Hongde bicycles to improve the service and management level of Hongde bicycles.
"Hongde bicycle" is another application example of the comprehensive development of students with "moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic and labor education" after “Liuhu Guard” and “Huayu Baicao Garden”. Through the cooperation of the North District Office and the College, we gave full play to students' professional knowledge and expertise, highlighted students' participation in school service management, carried out immersed school education. The North District Office is dedicated to creating more platforms, integrating various departments and colleges, and utilizing the professional knowledge and expertise of students to create a campus culture that both teachers and students participate in and show concern for the development of a beautiful campus environment.
The North District Office reminds the students and teachers: before using Hongde Bicycles, please check the condition of the bicycle and do not use the breakdown one; while riding the bicycle, please be aware of your safety and any behavior of “racing, dangerous lane changes, chasing, riding double, using mobile phones while riding and other dangerous behaviors is prohibited; after using, please return the bicycle to designated parking areas and take all your belongings with you.
