On May 19, 2019, the 10th Capital University Mechanical Innovation Design Competition Launch & Propaganda Lecture was held in the Academic Report Hall on the fifth floor of library, Changping Campus. Presented by Ms. Zhang Liyan, this lecture was divided into four parts: The review of previous competitions, the summary of the last competition, the theme and schedule of the 10th competition.
Ms. Zhang also made a summary of the 9th competition. In this competition, our students gave full play to their imagination on the theme of “Focusing on the People’s Livelihood for A Better Home”. Under the extremely poor design and production environment, they still submitted up to 12 work, all of which won awards, such as two won the first prize, and one of them won the first place among the first prize winners.
Later, Ms. Zhang introduced to us the 10th Competition themed “Smart Home, Happy Family”. According to her explanation, this theme mainly focuses on the design and production of elderly care machinery and **art home machinery. She pointed out the direction we should pay attention to in the topic selection and design process, suggesting that we should apply emerging technologies such as information technology and Internet +, and attach importance to the feasibility of the work and the general project design and structural design of the work based on the theory, methods, techniques and specifications of the mechanical design. Finally, she reminded us to remember the schedule and encouraged us to actively participate in the competition.
After her explanation, Li Mingqian, who won the first prize in the last competition, also showed us his experience in the competition, telling us that the competition process mainly included preliminary research, physical production and materials. His detailed description provided us with valuable experience. Li Mingqian also suggested us to proceed from the reality and conduct field investigation in person to obtain more practical market feedback for the design and improvement of our innovative work. Only in this way can we truly achieve human-oriented design. At the same time, we must also have a rigorous attitude since **all errors, such as the surface roughness of tolerance, can have huge consequences in the actual design.
Finally, we wish the school a remarkable result in this competition, and students can also enrich their knowledge, increase their experience, improve their operational ability and the ability to deal with things.
