“Zero Distance with Technology” series academic report—a special report at the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering was held successfully
At 19:00 p.m. of 1 November 2018,“Zero Distance with Technology” series academic report—a special report at the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, co-organized by Graduate School, Student Affairs Office and the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, was held at academic report hall, fifth floor of library, Changping campus. Prof. Gao Jinji, an expert of equipment diagnosis engineering and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Prof. Gan Zhihua, deputy secretary of party committee and dean of graduate school, Li Jun, deputy director of student affairs office, Lv Ying, director of Office for Recruiting Graduate, all of the leaders, teacher representatives, instructors of Changping campus and over 280 undergraduates of the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of Beijing University of Chemical Technology participated in this report, with Prof. Gan Zhihua as host.
First of all, Zhang Bing, division secretary of the party committee introduced the attendees and extended warm welcome and sincere gratitude to all leaders, teachers and students on behalf of the college.
Prof. Gan Zhihua, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of the school hosted the report, introduced in detail the basic situation of teaching resources and scientific research strength of our Graduate School, bridging closer the distance between student with scientific research. He introduced our situation of discipline construction development and graduate education from academic level, faculty, scientific research team and institution and graduate school.
Prof. Yang Weimin, dean of the College of Mechanical and Electrical engineering, made a brief introduction on college’s faculty, talent training and scientific research results on the basis of college’s course of development, then highlighted the practical application of polymer material processing and advanced manufacturing technology to the injection molding, rubber processing and polymer processing. He also encouraged students to be confident and resolute to their goals, achieving their values through in-depth learning. All teachers and students present were inspired by his words.
Then, Academician Gao Jinji delivered an academic report to students with the title of “intelligent monitoring on the healthy energy efficiency of process and power equipment” on the basis of his extensive experience of engineering and scientific research. When it comes to scientific research direction and results, Academician Gao ****yzed the operation status of national process industry equipment, pointed out that diagnosis and self-healing engineering research center of equipment fault (DSE) put its emphasis on the research of “monitoring and diagnosis”; he also stated and ****yzed the network monitoring and diagnosis and self-healing of high-end equipment, as well as health monitoring of engines and drive system used in military aviation and vessel. In his opinion, we should focus on the development of AI and “endowing machine with purposeful activity” through industrial Internet, so as to improve our efficiency and guarantee our safety. He also quoted his working motto he adhered to since the 1980s of “down-to-earth, innovation with joint efforts, strive to build a team with scientific and technological innovation ability” to encourage team spirit. We saw a professionally competent, experienced scientific research team with passion and patience through his concise introduction. At the end of the report, Academician Gao also encouraged students to dedicate to doing research earnestly and made an invitation for further study in DSE.
At last, Prof. Gan Zhihua, deputy secretary of Party Committee, spoke highly of the scientific research results Academician Gao had made and his spirit of devotion and patrioti** in the conclusion remarks. He pointed out that people carry out scientific research in order to resolve national issues, and hoped that all of the students present can diligently devote themselves to working and studying to do their little bit for building the country and scientific research with Academician Gao’s remarks in mind.
This report meeting came to a successful conclusion in students’ warm applause. The College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering will continue to adhere to a down-to-earth, rigorous and truth-seeking academic atmosphere, motivating students’ interests on scientific research, nurturing their abilities and consciousness of innovation and make contributions to build a “double first-rate” university.
