In the evening of October 29, 2015, the weekly report of College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering invited Prof. Cheng Yuan, a distinguished expert in rubber machinery industry, to give a lecture themed "Inspiration, Diligence, Talents and Innovation" for juniors and seniors at the Auditorium of Sciences.
Prof. Cheng Yuan has been working at Beijing University of Chemical Technology for 36 years since his graduation in 1962. He has cultivated a great many of undergraduates, graduates and Doctors of Philosophy for the industry during the course of serving as a teaching assistant, lecturer, associated professor, professor and Ph.D. supervisor (approved by Academic Degree Commission of the State Council in 1993, called Ph. D. supervisor approved by the State).
Prof. Cheng Yuan shared his experiences with the students who were benefited a lot. At the end, Prof. Cheng Yuan raised his expectations on the students, and wished them to have at least an innovative idea before graduation. He showed the students a way ahead, and laid a foundation for the future life of the students.
