Course Descriptions: | Pro / E is the world's most popular solid modelling package. This course would importantly introduce the using of foundation module; including the solid modelling; modify; part’s or machine’s assembly, and engineering drawings. |

Learning Goals and Objectives
1). To build an awareness of the Pro/E software,including it’s purpose, function and parametric design.
2). Let students know how to use the Pro/E to build a parametric 3D solid modelling on computers.
3). Proficiency in Pro / E software on computers in individual product design and concept design approach.
4). Can put the 3D solid modellings assembly into a part or component and generate an explosion diagram.
5).To generate 2D dimensional drawings from the 3D solid modelling and modified or edited it in different graphics software.
Course Content and Requirements
1). Introduction of PRO / E system and the system environment (2 hours)
Through the PRO / E system and system environment introduced the using, function, interface, configuration design process and the command process of Pro/E.
Basic requirements: know the using, function, interface, configuration design process and the command process of Pro/E. Familiar with the interface of Pro / E, and let students know the use of common command and the mouse's special using.
2). Basic 2D draftings(2 hours)
Introduce the 2-D module:drawing, techniques, geometric constraint, dimensioning and edit the method of the geometry, in the 2-D sketch module.
Basic requirements: know the function of 2D draftings, master the drawing method and relative orders of it.
3). Datum feature (1 hours)
Using and establishment of datum plan, the establishment and function of datum axis and curve, datum feature’s control display.
Basic requirements: to enable students to know the functions of all kinds of datums, and master the establishment and the display control method of it.
4). Establishment of solid feature (9 hours)
Concept, building processes and a variety of methods (sketch, revolve, sweep, holds, rounds, chamfers, shell, ribs); display and modify ; copy of the 3D solid modeling.
Basic requirements: this chapter is a key section of the course, to familiarise students with the establishment and design changes in the edit, modify and copy method of the 3D solid modeling. Be able to complete the parts of the 3D solid modeling independently.
5). Appearance and display of the part (0.5 hours)
Color setting of the part; light edit and simple rendered
Basic requirements: to master the setting method of the solid feature’s color, know the edit of the light and simple rendered
6)The establishment of assembly (2 hours)
Method of put the 3D solid modeling to a assembly; and the method of generate a explode view.
Basic requirements: master parts assembly methods, and can generate a explode view with any style.
7). The establishment of 2D drawings (2 hours)
Establish, modify, edit and dimension of the view
Basic requirements: to master the methods of transfer the 3D solid modeling to 2D drawings, and be able to dimension, finally, got the 2D drawings from the 3D solid modeling.
Assignment
1). Create a solid part of piston pump and put color on it (12 hours)
2). Design a particle, individually (3 hours)
3). Complete the piston pump’s assembly and exploded view (2 hours)
4). Complete the piston pump parts and assembly, and generate the corresponding drawings (3 hours)
Evaluation Approaches
Continue to complete the contents which were not did in the class.

Create a part within the stipulated time, and comprehensive consider the personalized design and the completion on the computer to give the final result.
