Course Descriptions
This course mainly introduces the basic knowledge of machinery fault diagnosis, such as vibration diagnosis foundation, diagnostic hardware bas, signal processing technology, a simple rotor system and gearbox fault diagnosis mechani** and diagnostic method, and intelligent diagnosis technology and so on. The aim is on the basis of understanding the vibration fault diagnosis principle to make the students master commonly used method of signal ****ysis and to learn the basic strategy of fault diagnosis. By learning the common characteristics of failure and failure mechani**, master the basic principles and methods of fault diagnosis of typical equipment and components or parts. With related experiments, enable students to have a preliminary system design idea and ability of fault diagnosis for the simple system. Besides, on the basis of introducing the basic knowledge of machinery fault diagnosis, enhance students’ practicalness. With the new theories, new methods to enable students to understand the dynamics of the frontier areas of this course.

Learning Goals and Objectives

The aim is on the basis of understanding the vibration fault diagnosis principle to make the students master commonly used method of signal ****ysis and to learn the basic strategy of fault diagnosis. By learning the common characteristics of failure and failure mechani**, master the basic principles and methods of fault diagnosis of typical equipment and components or parts. With related experiments, enable students to have a preliminary system design idea and ability of fault diagnosis for the simple system.

Course Content and Requirements
Contents of Theory
Require students have an intimate knowledge of the basic strategy of fault diagnosis and failure mechani** and method commonly used in signal ****ysis and processing. By learning the common characteristics of failure and failure mechani**, master the basic principles and methods of fault diagnosis of typical equipment and components or parts.
Main theory of teaching content: 1. Basis of Vibration Diagnosis 2. Basis of hardware fault diagnosis 3. Vibration signal processing technology 4. Fault diagnosis of rotor system 5. Fault diagnosis of gear case(bearing、gear) 6. Fault diagnosis Intelligence technology.
Contents for experiment
Ask students to participate in drawing up the task of detection test, data acquisition, data ****ysis and the fault diagnosis, and write the report about diagnosis.
The content of teaching experiment:
1. Testing and diagnosis for  typical system failures of rotary machine, such as unbalance and misalignment.
2. Bearing vibration signal test and failure ****ysis.
