This course introduces the key issues of safety economics systematically, including the science of safety economics, indicators and quantitative science of safety economics, safety value engineering, safety investment and cost ****ysis, safety economic management and decision-making, safety economic risk ****ysis Etc. furthermore it unifies theoretical, systematic and practical features typically. Some contents with innovative features are shown as follows: security economics principles, the calculation of accident losses, method of Value-Based non-value factorsEvaluation of Safety Benefitcontribution rate ****ysis of security economics Etc.

Learning Goals and Objectives
This course is a crossed subject with security science and economics, It is based on the theory of economic science theory, takes the security engineering and technical activities as specific applications, provides  theoretical guidance and practical basis for the security economic activities. It make Students learn to research and ****yse economic forms and conditions of security theoretically, furthermore, it reveals and clarifies the expressions and achievable conditions of security interests , security investment and security benefits, organizecontrol and adjust the safety activities of human rational, finally it implement the optimal safety benefits of the  people, the technology and the environment. Detailed teaching objectives is shown as follows:
1.       Master the fundamental relation of security science and security economics the structure of the security system the definition of security science and discipline issues;
2.       Understand the nature of security economic research object, content, tasks, methods, focusing on its nature and research object;
3.        Master the principles of security economic activities, benefits and interests law, several important mathematical laws;
4.        Master the evaluation principles and methods of security economic investment;
5.       Understand the theoretical basis of security economic statistics, index system, as well as the definition of index;
6.        Understand security evaluation engineering generally, master security function ****ysis and evaluation methods and object choice;
7.       Understand the knowledge of security investments, techniques of security investment decision, know the situation of security investment in our country;
8.       Master the computing technology of accident economic losses totally;
9.       Understand the value calculation of life and health, security value or risk calculation of the cost, Master the calculation method of environmental value loss;
10.    Master the evaluation techniques of security benefit, familiar with the statistics and the calculation method;
11.   To understand the general safety management knowledge, skillfully master the depreciation method of security equipment and facilities,;
12.   Require students to master a variety of decision-making methods skillfully;
13.   Understand the cost-benefit ****ysis that reduce the risk, master utility theory and risk asses**ent methods.

This course has not set up experiment yet.
Evaluation Approaches
This course includes at least 4 exercises, with totally 4 questions or so.
Exercise results and other test results account for 30% of the final course score. Times of late or missing submitting works should be less than 40% of the total times of exercises. Otherwise, it will affect the score of the exercise.
It is promoted and encouraged for students to discuss with the teacher and clas**ates. Students must finish the exercise on their own. Plagiarizing or copying others’ work will violate the academic morality and it is forbidden. Students who involved with severe case will be handed over to the Committee of Student Disciplinary Treatment.
It is helpful to do the exercises, because it makes students to master the course better and then to get a higher score on stage examinations and the final one. The final examination may contain similar questions or even exactly the same questions that had appeared in the previous exercises.
Asses**ent System
The examination and asses**ent is the main approach, with the  assistance of homework and classwork asses**ent, to objectively and  strictly assess the learning quality and effect as far as possible, in order  to improve the basic quality of students in this major.
Students are allowed to participate in the final examination with the  specified exam objects, and answer the questions individually. Any  activities of cheating in the examination will result in the processing from  the Student Indiscipline Commitee.
The timespan of final examination is 120 minutes, and the specific time  and location will be published at least 1 week before the examination.
Achievement evaluation takes centesimal system, which Exercise results and other test results account for 30% of the final course score (30 points), close exam account for 70% of the course (70 points).
