On the afternoon of May 22, the 42nd lecture of the 'Hongde Forum' at Beijing University of Chemical Technology was successfully held in the Lixue Lecture Hall in the Changping campus. Professor Gao Jinji, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, was invited to deliver a special report titled 'Self-strengthening, Firm Belief, Serving the Country, and Striving'. The report was chaired by Ren Feng.
At the report meeting, Academician Gao Jinji began with a 'seven-character verse', drawing on his personal growth and scientific research experiences to share his insights on several key themes: 'aim high and study diligently to face challenges', 'introduce learning to lead in innovation', 'take the construction of national defense as your mission', and 'climb the peak of science and technology to nurture outstanding talents'. He highlighted the research directions for fault diagnosis and artificial self-healing in the age of artificial intelligence. In closing, Academician Gao encouraged students to uphold the spirit of 'practicality, truth-seeking, cooperation, and innovation', to set their sights on serving the country, to focus on practical training, to maintain strict self-discipline, to think independently, to value teamwork, to ensure good health, and to contribute to the construction of a strong nation and the great cause of national rejuvenation.
The report aims to inspire students to set lofty aspirations and contribute to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation by sharing stories of scientists who are self-reliant, steadfast in their beliefs, and dedicated to serving the country.
