Professor Yang Weimin's team, Enlearn Lab won the National Technological Invention Award!

On the morning of June 24, 2024, the National Science and Technology Award Conference was held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Our  college  as the first completed unit, and Professor Yang Weimin as the first completed person of innovative achievement "Green and efficient manufacturing technology and application of polymer melt nanofibers"  won the second prize of National Technological Invention Award in 2023. Project team: The technological invention is the result of close cooperation and collaborative research by Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Tianjin University of Science and Technology, Tianjin University of Technology and Tianjin Teda, etc. The listed six winners includes three teachers of our college, Yang Weimin, Li Haoyi and Yan Hua, which embodies the wisdom and hard work of many participants and supporters!

Project information: Polymer nanofibers because of its excellent physical and chemical properties, are needed in the medical and health protection, energy and environmental protection and biomedicine and other fields of urgent demand."Zero solvent" melt nanofiber green manufacturing industrialization technology has always been a world problem and research focus in this field. In the past two decades, under the funding of key projects of Beijing Natural Science Foundation, the 12th Five-Year National Science and Technology Support Plan and the 13th Five-Year National Key Research and Development Plan, the project team has pioneered new principles and new methods of polymer melt differential electrospinning through interdisciplinary and industry-academic-research collaborative innovation. Further innovated and invented key technologies such as multi-field coupling fiber thinning, heterogeneous melt micronano fiber thickness alternation, dynamic electric field homogenization film, and high voltage electrospinning, overcoming a series of problems in the efficient green manufacturing of polymer nanofibers, taking the lead in the world to realize the industrialization of green manufacturing technology and equipment of polymer melt nanofibers, and obtaining 86 authorized invention patents. He has published more than 120 academic papers, and the monograph "Nanofiber Electrospinning" was selected as a national key publication. The products of the project have created significant economic and social benefits in the fields of haze prevention and epidemic prevention, aerospace, energy, environmental protection and biomedicine. The technological invention has great potential for application and development in the fields of chemical fiber efficient green manufacturing and high-end textiles, and is a landmark achievement from made in China to invented in China!

Enlearn Team introduction:

The "Enlearn Team" led by Professor Yang Weimin of our college has been committed to the cultivation of professional talents and scientific and technological innovation research of polymer material processing machinery for a long time. Under the leadership of Professor Yang, the team has continuously undertaken and completed a number of national key research tasks, obtained more than 350 authorized invention patents at home and abroad, published more than 600 papers, and published 16 works in both Chinese and English. The research achievements of the team have not only had a profound impact on the academic community, but also played an important role in practical application, winning 1 national teaching achievement award, 3 national science and technology awards and a number of provincial and ministerial science and technology awards.

The representative scientific research achievement of the team, "Research and development and industrialization of plastic precision molding technology and equipment", won the second prize of the 2011 National Science and Technology Progress Award (ranked first); The award-winning "Green and Efficient Manufacturing Technology and Application of polymer melt nanofibers" has made a major breakthrough in the intersection of machinery and materials. In addition, Professor Yang Weimin has also made a series of inventions and innovations in the direction of advanced manufacturing of high-performance tires and clean energy science and technology, and has been awarded the honorary titles of "Beijing Advanced Worker (Model Worker)" and "National Excellent Teacher".
