Process Equipment and Control Engineering specialty was formerly known as Chemical Equipment and Machinery specialty, a well-known specialty popular in the society, and a composite specialty closely related to process industry and integrating machinery, chemical engineering, materials and other fields.
It's aimed at cultivating advanced professional talents with knowledge of mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, control engineering and management engineering, etc., and capable to engage in process equipment research, design, operation, control and management, etc. in petroleum, chemical engineering, energy, light industry, environmental protection, medicine, food and labor safety, etc.
Process Equipment and Control Engineering is a featured specialty of China and Beijing Municipality, a key specialty of "211 Program" for schools. It was a national A++ specialty in 2008 and 2011, and passed the engineering education accreditation of the state in 2010. It's an executing unit of "Excellent Engineer Training Program". The teaching and discipline building of this specialty plays a demonstration role nationwide.
